Soldier of the Legion is a six-book action-adventure science fiction series that follows Legion trooper Thinker's adventures in the service of the people of ConFree. Fifty years after the events outlined in Curse of the Legion, a new generation of recruits has walked through the Legion Gate. Formidable new challenges face the ConFree Legion, but the mission does not change: defend the women and children of the Confederation of Free Worlds from everything that would threaten them. Titles in the series include Prophet of ConFree, Prophet and the Blood March, Prophet and the Eye, Prophet and the Creature from Eternity, Prophet and the Fields of Glory, and Prophet and Deadman's Dogs. Please click on the book above to learn more about the Prophet series.
The latest series begins in a dark future, when ConFree has been over-run by enemies both foreign and domestic. Foreign aliens are consolidating their power over the native peoples, and resistance is unthinkable. National suicide is official government policy. Despite a generation of thought control and endless hateprop, embittered ConFree youth are still volunteering for a weakened ConFree Legion. Four hundred years of service to the people of ConFree will not disappear quietly into the night. Is it indeed too late, or will the new Legion recruits risk it all to do the right thing for the women and children of ConFree?

'He’s been wounded so many times he’s probably more artificial than human. He’s seriously crazy – some of the troopies whisper that he’s not quite human, anymore. But I don’t care about that. He’s our One, he’s the bravest man I’ve ever known, and we’ll follow him anywhere. We’ll go straight into Hell if he wants, and shoot Satan right between the eyes.'
'Our One' – excerpt from the personal journal of Thinker (Beta Three)
“They say we fight for ConFree, for justice, for the future. What crap! Give me that E! I fight for my people.”
— Unidentified Legion trooper, overheard just before the drop onto Andrion 3.
"The DefCorps trooper is tenacious and skilled. He does not fight for the System, but for himself and his comrades. In most cases he will not stop until you kill him. Respect your enemy!"
